Kerton draws a close to Prime time
At the annual AFC Valour Football Tournament on Sunday 24th June, goalkeeper Lewis Kerton and Left-Winger Phil Chapman announced that they were both leaving the club to join Premier League Pembury next season.
Chapman found the net 7 times for Prime in 2 short spells with the club and The Numbers will miss his long throws and ball-striking ability in equal measure.
Kerton joined the club in 2008, displacing Gary Latter and firmly establishing himself as Prime's Number 1. In 2009/10 he was voted Player's Player of the Season and he continued to perform consistently well over a total of 73 appearances - scoring a penalty in what proved to be his final season in purple.
Both players will be missed, but the Prime management would like to thank both players for their efforts over the past few seasons, and we wish them every success at their new club.
Prime performed well in the tournament and were unlucky to only pick up 2 draws and 2 narrow defeats from their 4 matches.
Seb Fleming was the Prime hero - scoring both of their goals on the day - and with newcomers Ross Taylor, Chris Alton and Tom Gibson performing well, plus Tom Buckland and Matt Walker making impressive returns, the prospects for the 2012/13 season look good.
