Prime gearing up for new season
At the league AGM held on Wednesday 20th June, Prime were confirmed in Division 2 of the Tonbridge League. There will be 12 teams in the league including the relegated AFC Valour Reserves and newcomers Yalding & Laddingford.
Prime will be looking to end a miserable run in the Chairman's Trophy when they head to their old stomping ground to face Hawkenbury III at Bayham in the First Round. Prime are still to win a game in this competition in their history.
The league season will kick off on Saturday 8th September 2012, with all matches to be completed by Saturday 4th May 2013.
There were several rule changes voted on at the AGM. The first of these was the confirmation that the transfer and registration deadline will be 31st March 2013 - thus no new players can be signed after this date.
The use of 3G pitches was again discussed, and after a tied 15/15 vote between the clubs, the league secretary had the casting vote which allows FC Revolution to use their 3G pitch at Hayesbrook School for all home matches this season.
The league narrowly voted against introducing unlimited rolling substitutions in all matches for the next 2 seasons. The rule will remain as it is, in that you can use any 3 from 5 named substitutes in any match, but a replaced player can not rejoin the action.
In the transfer market, Prime have been busy. Ross Taylor and Tom Gibson are both set to join The Numbers, along with the returning Matt Walker and Tom Buckland. Joe Walker is also bidding to make a return from his long-term back injury.
Prime's season gets underway with the AFC Valour Tournament held at Horsmonden on Sunday 24th June 2012, with the Cadogan-based outfit taking an 18-man squad to the 5-team event.
