Roselands Edge 7 Goal Thriller

Ashton Prime 3-4 Roselands Reserves

Prime had huge injury problems with the keeper and all of the defence from the Leigh game ruled out.

So Whiting stepped in between the sticks and Buckland, Moaby, Leaver and Lower made up the back 4.

Bishop also returned to add his pace up front, as Rhee swtiched to the right wing.

Prime started brightly and after Goldsmith's chip deceived the centre-back, Bishop snaffled his first for the club.

But the visitors were soon in front as a long ball over the top relased their pacy striker to beat Whiting, who had moments earlier produced an excellent save from a curling free-kick.

A basic error put Roselands ahead as Prime failed to push up after clearing a corner, and the striker was left onside to tap home.

But Prime pulled level at half-time as Bishop's shot bobbled beyond the hapless keeper.

The home side started brightly in the second half and Bishop rounded off his hat-trick with a cool finish from a tight angle.

Moments later Prime nearly doubled their lead when Smith-Foreman lashed against the bar from a Bishop cross. But two late goals gave the visitors the win, with a ball over the top of the defence again being Prime's achilles heel.

Prime battled hard for a late leveller but Roselands held firm to gain revenge for their defeat in the reverse fixture.
