Casuals Stroll To Hilbert Win

Ashton Prime 2-7 High Brooms Casuals Reserves

Prime welcomed back striker Barney Mellors, but were without defenders Leaver and Gilbert as they entertained The Casuals.

Lower came in in goal and Goldsmith and Ellis moved to centre-back.

The visitors started well and slack marking from a throw in enabled them to take the lead.

The lead was doubled when the offside trap was sprung and Lower was unable to win the 1 on 1 battle.

But Prime got back into the game when Rhee was bundled over in the box and he picked himself up to slot home the penalty.

The visitors though, re-established a 2 goal lead before half-time from a corner.

A comical 4th goal followed as a mix-up between Sturmey on the near post and Lower allowed the Casuals striker to tap home from inches out.

The fifth came after Lower saved a penatly given for handball by Bishop, but the keeper couldn't recover in time to stop the rebound being forced in.

Prime pulled one back following a good through ball Mellors which released Smith-Foreman, whose left-footed strike took a deflection and flew in beyond the helpless keeper.

But two further late goals from corners completed the rout.
