7-up Roselands ease to win

Ashton Prime 1-7 Roselands

A weakened Prime were soundly beaten at Hilbert as Roselands' first team turned on the style.

With no Allcorn or Leigh, Skovborg-Hansen donned the gloves, and with Mellors and Smith-Foreman absent, Goldsmith moved up front to join Rhee. Bridges also filled in at left-back.

The visitors knocked the ball around well and made Prime work hard in the humid conditions.

Despite dominating possession, Roselands struggled to break through with Skovborg-Hansen foiling a number of attacks with the aid of a determined backline.

However, 2 goals in the last 10 minutes of the half deflated The Numbers - but they had chances of their own with Flamank flashing a shot wide and Goldsmith narrowly failing to re-direct Rhee's driven cross into the net.

At the break, Ellis joined proceeding, replacing Goldsmith up-front - but within 40 seconds, Roselands had made it 3-0.

A 4th was added soon after as tiredness started to set in for The Numbers.

Ellis left the field with a concern over his hamstring, allowing Matthews to return.

The midfielder, who had an impressive game, soon curled home a fine consolation for Prime with a free-kick from 25 yards - leaving the keeper helpless.

Despite Kneebone's tireless efforts down the right, Prime were visibly running out of steam, and the pacy Roselands strikers added 3 furhter late goals.

Man of the Match: Matthews - fine display, capped by his goal.
