Rustics comeback claims the points
Ashton Prime 1-2 Rusthall IV
After last week's battling point at Paddock Wood, Prime were keen to press for their first maximum of the season against the inconsistent Rusthall IV's.
Hamstring victim Kneebone was ruled out along with Jamie Barker - whose thigh strain sidelined him. This meant Garside started on the right-wing and Mellors returned up front.
Due to the league failing to allocate a referee for the match, a frustrated Goldsmith was forced to take charge of the game - ending any involvement from the subs bench.
Prime started the game in confident mood and Carl Barker and Mellors looked to be troubling the visitors' backline.
Barker had already tested the keeper from the edge of the box, before good work down the left by Smith-Foreman resulted in the ball running to the Prime frontman, and he coolly slotted home.
With the Rusthall backline all over the place and the slope in their advantage, Prime pressed for a second and Leaver's slide-rule through-ball released Barker again, but this time his shot beat the keeper but rolled agonisingly wide.
As time ran out in the first half, Prime won a corner, which was curled in expertly by Mellors and Garside produced a thumping volley which produced an excellent save from the visitor's young keeper.
Rusthall started the second half in the ascendancy and Gilbert and Mazurkiewicz had to be at their best to repel wave after wave of Rustics attacks.
They had brought on a pacey right-winger who started to look dangerous and Tom Matthews had his work cut out to keep him in check.
However, Prime still looked dangerous on the break and they were denied a second as Barker was adjudged to have fouled the keeper before slotting home.
Rusthall continued to knock on the door and finally got their equaliser as a ball over the top released the right-winger who smashed home past the excellent Skovborg-Hansen.
Prime's defenders were still arguing about the equaliser as they lost possession immediately from the re-start and the same player swooped to chip over the stranded keeper and take the lead.
Smith-Foreman moved up front as Ellis entered the fray and he had claims for a late penalty turned down, but Rusthall held on to claim the win.
