Prime humbled by Green
Ashton Prime 2-10 Dunton Green Reserves
Prime's pre-season preparations continued with the visit of Dunton Green Reserves of the Sevenoaks League Division 2.
The home side were without several key player, including all four scorers from the victory against Woodlands Reserves.
Goulding, Barnham and Mazurkiewicz returned to form a makeshift back 4 with Garside. Up front, Goldsmith skippered the side, alongside a trialist called Ant.
The visitors started well, looking sharp on the ball, and after 15 minutes they took the lead.
But Prime started to start playing some football and they were soon back on terms as Goldsmith's flick on released Ant, who expertly finished as the keeper came out.
But Green were soon back ahead as Goulding underhit a return pass to Sturmey and Green took possession and their striker was unmarked to finish with ease.
Prime completely lost their way and were 6-1 down at the break with a mixture of calamitous defending and good wide play by the visitors.
Mellors slotted in as an emergency Centre-Back for the second period, with Goldsmith attempting to plug the hole in the middle of the park, and Sankey sent on upfront with the mission of closing down the Green defence.
The seventh goal soon came, and Green were continuing to cause Prime all sorts of problems, despite the best efforts of Garside and Mellors.
At 10-1, Prime were handed the chance for a consolation when Sankey was hauled down in the box, but in keeping with the rest of the day, Goldsmith saw his spot kick well saved by the keeper.
Prime did get a second with the last kick of the game - Mellors' disguised free-kick found Ant in space, and he netted well from close-range.
