F.C. Revolution 2-0 Ashton Prime

Saturday 2nd April 2011, Hayesbrook School, Tonbridge

Prime headed to Hayesbrook School in Tonbridge to face an FC Revolution side whose league position belies their quality. They had the added bonus of being familiar with the 3G astroturf surface - and infact are so far unbeaten at this venue.

For the first match of the double-header, Prime brought in Mazurkiewicz, Polinski and Joe Walker after last week's disappointing loss to Woodlands.

The game started with Revolution in the ascendancy, but they were largely restricted to long-range efforts in the first half. Prime looked most dangerous when they got the ball wide to Henshall and Walters, but Joe Walker and Excell were again struggling to see much of the ball.

At the break, Prime knew that the next goal would be crucial - sadly it went to Revolution who broke well following a Prime corner. Walters was unlucky to lose a 50/50 challenge, leaving Revolution with a 3 on 2 situation which they played well and their tall striker converted.

Prime sent on Goldsmith, Davis and Barnham to try and get something out of the match, but their hopes were effectively ended when captain Matt Walker was adjudged to have fouled the Revolution midfielder just inside the box. He picked himself up to roll the ball to Kerton's left and kill off the game.
