Hawkenbury III (no team) - (walk over) Ashton Prime

Saturday 19th April 2014, Cadogan Recreation Ground, Tunbridge Wells

Ashley Goldsmith's final game in charge of Ashton Prime was over before it even began as Hawkenbury III failed to raise a side and cancelled the game.

Prime were facing an injury crisis but had called upon Jamie Barker to go in goal amongst a squad of 12 players determined to secure the win that would confirm Prime's highest ever finish.

But at 10am, Hawks boss Chris Moon called to say that 8 of his players had been taken by the Hawkenbury Reserve team, leaving him with no choice but to call the game off.

Prime still have one game to go at Paddock Wood Reserves on 3rd May, but Goldsmith will be attending former player Andy Skovborg-Hansen's wedding - giving the new managerial team Sander and Sykes the chance to cut their teeth ahead of the 2014/15 campaign.

Leigh's 5-2 blitzing of FC Revolution keeps them in the title-hunt and with Revo still to face leaders Tonbridge Athletic, Prime should be safe in 3rd.
